Trying Color Film

After having a blast shooting my first roll of black and white film, I couldn't wait to try my hand at color film photography! Thanks to my cousin Angela, who generously gave me an expired roll of Fujifilm 200, I had the perfect opportunity to practice capturing the vibrant colors of the world around me.

Muted Colors and a Vintage Charm

When I finally got the film developed, I was delighted to see the interesting results. The colors in the photos were slightly muted, with a distinctive green hue that gave them a unique, vintage charm. This look was very different from what I was used to with modern digital photos, and I absolutely loved it!

A Family Hike at Bear Mountain, NY

I decided to take my beloved Nikon F3HP, loaded with the Fujifilm 200, on a fun-filled family hike at Bear Mountain in New York. With the warm summer sun shining brightly overhead, we embarked on an adventurous hike, exploring the beautiful trail and taking in the breathtaking scenery.

As we trekked through the lush greenery and changing landscapes, I was excited to capture the diverse colors and lighting conditions on film. It was a fantastic experience, as I challenged myself to adapt to different situations and capture the true essence of our family adventure.

As I become more confident using my Nikon F3HP camera, I am excited to try out more types of film and continue my exploration of the fascinating world of film photography. This first experience with color film has opened my eyes to the endless creative possibilities that await me.

Join me on my journey as I experiment with different films, learn new techniques, and capture the colorful world around me through the lens of my Nikon F3HP. I'll be sharing my experiences, the photos I take, and the stories behind them here on Reel Moments. Whether it's the vivid colors of nature or the subtle hues of everyday life, I'm eager to embrace the magic of film photography and document Reel Moments along the way.
